Love Made A Way

December can feel like a month of tension. On one hand, we want to enjoy the purity and sparkle of the Christmas season, filling our hearts with glad tidings and joy. On the other hand, we may find ourselves anxious about what the next year holds. Will the market crash? Will there be another shooting? Will our children be safe? Will I make it through another year?

Holding all of these emotions at the same time can leave us feeling, well, tense. And if we are not careful, tension can slowly turn into apathy, tempting us to rob ourselves of fully enjoying the life God has given us. But there is good news.

Scripture reminds us that God does His best work when it seems like there is no way. When we are outnumbered and overwhelmed. When we are distressed and disappointed. When we are almost convinced that there is no way forward.

When Adam and Eve listened to the lies of the serpent, Love made a way.

When Abraham and Sarah were battling infertility, Love made a way.

When Moses and the Israelites were cornered by their oppressors, Love made a way.

When Goliath was breathing down David’s neck, Love made a way.

When the three Hebrew boys felt the blistering heat of the furnace, Love made a way.

When there was no room in the inn for Mary and Joseph, Love made a way.

When sin thought it had the final word on the cross, Love made a way.

2025 may have put you out for the count. You may be reading this blog exhausted and bruised from this year’s toils, feeling anxious as 2026 stares you down. But fear not, my friend. Love will make a way.
