Meeting God at Rainforest Falls

We thank God for another successful Vacation Bible School at San Diego Fil-Am, that wraps up today!

Our children enjoyed a memorable adventure filled with Bible stories, worship, crafts, games, music, food, friendships, and creative decorations. Since I grew up around mountains, rivers, and the sea, I loved seeing our church turned into a lively rainforest. Watching the kids’ excitement and the wonder on the faces of parents and guests who came back each day was truly special.

But even more important than the decorations was the message. All week at Rainforest Falls VBS, the children learned about who God is through daily Bible lessons from the Psalms. Every activity—whether Bible Adventures, Imagination Station, games, or snack time—helped teach a simple but life-changing truth about God’s character. The children discovered that God is our Creator, knows everything, is a safe place for us, and loves us forever. I believe that helping children know and trust God while they are young is the greatest gift VBS can give as they grow up.

This week also showed how beautiful it is when our church family serves together. Preparing for VBS took many willing hands. Some people gave many hours, while others could only help a little. Some donated decorations or supplies, others gave financial support, food, fruit, or refreshments, and many served quietly behind the scenes. Every contribution made a difference. Their teamwork reminds me of Jesus’ parable of the workers in the vineyard (Matthew 20:1–16), where God’s grace, not how much we do, is what matters most.

We especially want to thank our VBS Directors, James and Ember Tibudan, for their hard work, sacrifice, and great example. Thank you also to every volunteer who gave their time, talents, and resources. Whether your role was in the spotlight or behind the scenes, know that God noticed your service.

I pray that the seeds planted this week will continue to grow in our children’s hearts. May the Lord bless everyone who helped make Rainforest Falls a joyful place where young hearts learned to know and love Him.
