The Fingerprint of God
Many times, God Almighty has intentionally encouraged and blessed my family and me through the loving and thoughtful gestures of His children. These moments are tangible expressions of love and appreciation for how the Lord has touched their lives—often through our simple obedience to His divine calling, no matter how small our role may seem.
Last Sabbath, during our 48th Church Anniversary, you—our beloved Filamily—beautifully demonstrated one of the most unique and heartfelt renditions of a Pastor’s Appreciation I have ever experienced. The young boys especially caught my attention as they delivered their parts from memory, asking sincere and practical questions meant to know us, their pastors, on a deeper level. These gestures touched both Kim and me profoundly, and I’m sure Pastor Rhidge and Liezel felt the same.
Indeed, God can be full of surprises—and when He does surprise us, let’s not only welcome it but embrace it. For in every divine interruption or unexpected blessing, God always has our best interests in mind. I believe that God is never disturbed or threatened by the challenges we face—not because He doesn’t care, but because He is never anxious or overwhelmed by any situation. What an amazing truth to rest in!
In God’s perfect wisdom, there is no arbitrariness—no turn of events that can ever surprise or exceed His capacity to redeem and restore (see 1 Corinthians 10:13). We still face experiences we wish were only dreams, yet His omnipotence assures us that no problem is too big for Him to handle. At the same time, He is personal enough to dwell in our hearts and walk with us through every moment.
Every heartbeat we take is a living reminder of our Creator-God—whose mission is “to seek and to save that which was lost.” And beyond that, He blesses us with abundance, often exceeding our greatest expectations. Let us, then, remain alert and sensitive to the beautiful ways He reveals Himself. In every act of kindness, in every moment of grace, and in every surprise that brings us closer to Him—we can see the fingerprint of God—
